As Christians it's hard to understand why war exists.
The French Revolution was a war between country men.
South Africa warred between blacks and whites.
In Ukraine, the Great Patriotic War, as it is called (the one which the sand painting was based around) resulted in 1/4 Ukrainians killed. Devastating.
We've had World Wars, we've had Civil Wars, we've had the Cold War, which perhaps... is not even finished yet.
And it's not always 'too far away to worry us.' As we speak, Australian troops are involved in wars overseas. The war against terrorism. Who knows what the next war will be against...?
The Bible tells the story of man wars. In the Old Testament some of the most faithful servants of God were involved in significant wars.
So why?
Why do we war?
Is it because of greed? Or is it because we allow stupid people to rule our countries?
Or is it because at the heart of the human, is a heart that is sinful. One that's natural instinct is to reject the creator of the world?
Hmmm.
Now there's something to think about.

I think everything mentioned above are all reasons why war happens - greed, power, money, etc. People are never happy with what they have - they always want more. I guess people think they can get more by creating wars. They like the feeling of having more power.

People are never ever fully content ... they always want more. Look at all the celebrities ... barely any of them are happy with their lives. True happiness is only found in Jesus :)

We as humans have a greed for power,

The more he gets, the more he thinks that he needs more.

we war because we want some thing and that people just get really greedy and its like snatching a baby's bottle.. i think well something rather.. its like we want something that doesnt belong to us.. it can be over anything money, or they just want something that they cant have and they fight untill they get it ??

so yea as humans we where made to rule over things but weve got to now where the line is and not cross it . but breed also has a part to play some wars ar for power but some are 4 greed (land money.ect)

War is caused by many different things. Its not just greed. Not just power. But both. Theres many other reasons why people go to war and fight. Most people never think about the concequences. That's why many people have died.

Just who is the devil? The Bible calls him “the god of this world.” But where did he come from? Did God create him as he is? Is he a fallen spirit? Here are the answers from God’s Word! that might just help

if you asked someone who started a war they would never say something like, 'cause i was greedy ya know? they would justify themselves. Some wars are considered right as they are against people who are "evil"
