I thought it was interesting to look at 1 Peter 3 the other day, but we didn't quite finish it.

If you go to SCRATCH/Year 10 Biblical Studies/1 Peter - so that we might winsome, you'll be able to read some more stuff about 1 Peter 3. It's stuff that I wrote, so hopefully it won't be too boring...

When it comes to women's rights and equality amongst the sexes though, it's important to remember two things.

1. God created us equal. Men and women both have equal right to live in a relationship with him.

2. God created us different. If God wanted us to be the same he wouldn't have made us so different. Think about it - girls are designed differently to boys. I'm thankful that my wife is wired differently to me. There are some days where I don't understand a word she says, but that's ok.

What I want you to do today is to research two 'famous' women's rights campaigners...

The first woman is named: Caroline Chisholm

The second woman is named: Sojourner Truth (also known as Isabella Baumfree)

What I would like you to do is to figure out who these women are and email me a brief description of who they are and what they are known for.

See if you can find a copy of Sojourner Truth's poem/speech entitled, 'Ain't I a woman?'
