I asked a question in the last blog - why do people judge other people?
I do it all the time. I live in Redbank, but there are times when I don't want to be associated with people who live in my area because I look down my nose at them. It's part of my sinful nature. I honestly feel like I can't help it sometimes!
Julianne said that it's the media's fault for making us judgemental. I think she's partly right.
You see when SIN entered the world, our natural instinct was to do the wrong thing. Think about it - I don't have to teach my kids to do the WRONG thing, they already know how to do it. Have you ever seen a parent teach their two year old how to throw a tantrum...
We don't need to be taught to do the wrong thing - it's our natural inclination. We need to be taught, and work hard at, doing the right thing.
Do you think that sin, and in particular 'judging others' is a problem in our society? What about in your own life? Is it even possible to get through a day without judging someone?
Blog on.

well,
ReplyDeletei think that sin is definitly a problem in our society expecially when it comes to judging other people because, we live in a fallen world where we are taught and shown images of how people should look and act, and if a person doesn't fit that steryotype they are straight away looked on as an outsider or weirdo. I think we all would be shoked about how much we judge ourselves our friends, family, random people on the street everyday. I think that most of us dont even realise how much we judge other people and it may not be allowed but in our minds. I think it would be hard for many people including myself to not judge other people, we can always try but because of things like the media and also the people we associate ourselves with this can be hard at times.

We only judge people to make us feel better about our selves, when really the satisfaction we get from it is just wrong. people judge each other because its our nature. We can't help it and its bacically impossible to go a day without judging someone.

yes, media is one reason for judgement, but i would think that we follow others more than we think for ourselves, what i mean is, when someone says, that that person is wierd or looks funny, instead of saying what WE think, we would rather agree to be part of the group.
