Christians get a bad rap. All over the world non-Christians think that Christians are fruit loops.
They have good reason to as well. Ned Flanders is a weirdo. George Bush pushed the boundaries, Mariah Carey says 'Thanks to God for this award', and then poses naked on the cover of whatever...
Christians, in the eyes of the world, are weirdos.
Is this fair?
Ask a group of non-Christians whether they've heard of:
William Wilberforce
Gladys Staines
Corrie Ten Boom
Desmond Tutu
... and they'll probably laugh at you. And yet, these Christians changed the world for good. They took the instructions in the Bible to look after those less fortunate than you, and did it.
They're not famous Christians though... they are Christians who, through the channel of history, have become well-known, by Christians.
So - who are some famous Christians that you know of who just make you CRINGE because they give Christians a bad name?
Or, who are some Christians who have done amazing work, who no one really knows about?

Christian in the eyes of other people are sometimes seen as weirdos, that isn't fair because you can't just judge someone by there belifs.

Also, although Mother Teresa has done many good things for this world, some people make fun of her because she is a very faithful christian.

There's a family at my church, the Larwills. They currently live in Cambodia, where they run a training centre for girls rescued from trafficking.
ReplyDeleteThey found out that 95% of girls rescued go back to it withing a year unless they find another source of income.
The training centre teaches the girls how to make cakes and coffees etc for the cafe downstairs (cakes are massive in Cambodia it was run by the French for 300 years or whatever)and gives them another source of income. If you think that slavery is a small problem, then your wrong, it is the second biggest organized crime to drugs.

People are quick to judge other people because we live in a world where everyone is judged by there appearance and what they look like. The media has influenced our generation in a way where what we look like is the way people will judge us.

Because they are probably jealous of you and they have stuff that you don't have and they just want to be like you. And they have extremely low self esteem and it makes them feel better about themselves.

Because they are probably jealous that you have something to rely on and to depend upon for stability. They dont have someone they can trust to talk to... They are probably just looking for a friend!

ReplyDeletei find that the missionaries from my church who have gone to africa and the diffrent islands where people are doing it tough and help them and also teach them about God. I think they are not talk about enough for the amount of work they have done.

ok this time im not going to joke :D we watch this video last year in bib an it was about corrie ten boom with these 2 woman tryin to tell every one about god an that he can save us from this prison camp or whatever they was called but one of the girl sister died but her sister keeped on going an didnt lose hope.

Because like people say us christians are weird and also they think that were crazy cause we believe in someone that is not real to them.. but all us christians believe in God and we would like to keep our faith strong and real... so thats why they judge us like that even though they dont even know who we are
