Stupid Flu

Hi Year 10.

Well, because of the wonder of technology I can still give you your BIB lesson even though I'm at home with the flu. Isn't that great?

Alright let's start. Maisy, be quiet. Jake, stop whingeing. Paddy, put your book away. Josh, turn around. Ok.

We need to start learning about the JWS - Jehovah's Witness. Like the Mormons, these people are known mainly for their constant door knocking. I'm sure you've all, at some stage or another, had a Witness come to your door with a pamphlet. More often then now, their pamphlets actually look like something a Christian church would give you - lots of talk about Jesus and God and heaven and...

Ok first thing I want you to do is pull up an email and address it to me. As you collect the information I'll ask you, I want you to type it into the email and send it to me by the end of the lesson. When i get back to school I will expect an email from every single member of the class. Ok?

What I'd like you to do today is to check out two websites for me (hopefully the IT department hasn't blocked these ones.

This is the official homepage of the JWS. It actually look interesting. Have a bit of a surf around. Looking at it now there are things like:

Living with your parents curfew
What body does God have?
Will there be enough water?
Maintaining commitment in marriage

I want you to try and find two or three things that you agree with, and two or three things that you disagree with! When you have found these things then type them up onto the email.

So you're email should look like this:

On the left hand side of the page you need to click on RELIGIOUS MOVEMENTS. Then click on Jehovah's Witness.

If you can watch the movie clips then watch them. Maybe whoever is your teacher might have a laptop they can use to play them... otherwise just read through some of the information and add to the email the following:
